Liverpool vs Brighton

Anfield - Two weeks ago, Liverpool football club played against Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club. This match was highly anticipated since the debut of Naby Këita and Sadio Mane’s performance the last time he played. The match starting 11 lineups for Liverpool includes Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, and Mohamed Salah in front. The midfield line included James Milner, Naby Këita, and Georginio Wijnaldum attacking. The back included Andrew Robertson, Virgil Van, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, and at goal, Alison Becker. This is their third match this season after playing against Crystal Palace and West Ham.

 

Brighton was feeling good after winning against Manchester United with the scoreline of 3 - 2. This was a shock since United belongs to the top 4 football team in the Premier League in the UK but they are currently 13 overall on the table. Their first match, however, didn’t go so well for them with the scoreline of 0 - 3 against Watford football club. Their starting 11 lineup consists of Glenn Murray at the front, Solly March, Yves Bissouma, Dale Stephens, Davy Pröpper, and Anthony Knockaert in midfield. At the back, Gaëtan Bong, Léon Balogun, Shane Duffy, Martìn Montoya, and Mathew Ryan at goal. This is the clubs third match of the season.

 

The match started at 11:30 pm WIB with Brighton kicking off. The first four minutes were interesting since Mane attempted a goal but it missed. During the sixth minutes Brighton gains possession and attempted a goal at Liverpool’s area but Alison caught the ball just in time. Mane and Firmino both attempted goals, but they were either miss or were saved by the goalkeeper. During the 23rd minute, Firmino passed the ball to Salah and ran his way near the goal and. In Mo Salah fashion, he scored the first goal from a long distance. The stadium erupted in cheers from the home supporters, and Mo Salah’s infamous anthem was sung. The remaining minutes from the first half was dominated by the Liverpool players attempting goals that were safe by Mathew Ryan. The first half ended 1 - 0 at Anfield.

 

The second half of the match started off with Liverpool earning the ball. Liverpool was moving forward until Shane Duffy tackled one of the Liverpool players and then passed down to a midfielder. The entire Brighton team were moving forward with Liverpool trying to regain possession before they reach the penalty area. The ball was accidentally passed to Murray from Alexander-Arnold’s leg. Murray took the chance to shoot, but it was off target from the goal. The match continued with a goal kick from Alisson and passes were passed. Liverpool was given a lot of chances to earn goals from corners, free kicks, and almost own goals; however, all of the attempted goals were saved by Ryan. Brighton also earned corners and free kicks, but their opportunities were wasted since the attempts were off-target. During the last 15 minutes of the match, substitutions were made from both teams with one substitution from Liverpool and four from Brighton. The match ended 1 - 0. Gives Liverpool a victory as well as being number one on the table and Brighton currently placing 14 after their loss to Liverpool.
